FAQs
What is Creative Systemic Coaching?
It’s an unique coaching approach combining skills from Shiatsu (Oriental medicine theories, awareness of the body and breath and compassion) and art (flexibility, quick decision-making, embracing chaos) with Systemic Coaching frameworks (viewing your world through different perspectives with an awareness of all the systems you are connected with).
This fusion of embodied, creative, systemic coaching allows me to offer a distinctive blend of creativity, compassion, and self-awareness to help you develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
It focuses on building emotional resilience and practical skills to face life's challenges by widening the lens through which you look at your life and your connections in it.
How much will it cost?
While coaching is an investment, it offers perspectives and insights you might miss when working alone. I offer several payment options to make coaching accessible and ask that you choose the price that is suitable for your budget.
For fellow creatives I am happy to offer 3 pro bono sessions.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are flexible and can be tailored to your schedule, ranging from 20-minute check-ins to 90-minute deep-dive sessions. We'll find a rhythm that works best for you.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies by individual. Some clients see significant changes in 6-8 sessions, while others prefer ongoing support. We'll discuss how coaching can best support you and create a plan that suits your needs.
What are your qualifications ?
I'm a ICF Associate Certified Coach, with a Systemic Coaching Diploma and Creativity Coach (advanced level) with additional training and experience as a Shiatsu practitioner for 20 years. I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to our sessions.
I am a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and abide by their high coaching standards and ethics.
What happens in a typical session?
Sessions combine conversation, creative exercises that you are happy to try, and practical actions and goals if that’s what you’re looking for. We'll explore your challenges, identify patterns, and develop strategies for implementing more self-kindness in your daily life..
A common misconception is that coaches will fix you or tell you what to do. Instead, I guide you toward your own answers. While I can offer accountability if requested, I won't give you solutions.
Coaching sessions often help you realize that YOU are in charge, and you already have everything you need to make desired changes.
What if I’m uncomfortable sharing stuff about my life ?
You're in control of what you share and when. We'll move at your pace noticing where your areas of feeling uncomfortable arise and together we explore ways to move forward.
Sessions are confidential.
Further information about confidentiality and processes are included in the coaching agreement.
How is coaching different from therapy?
While therapy often focuses on healing past trauma with a clinical diagnosis and sometimes chemical interventions, coaching focuses on present challenges and future goals. In coaching we work on practical strategies and actions to move you forward with the belief that you are capable to making the changes you want.
If for any reason I feel other therapeutic professional services are required I will request that you get the help you need, and will explore with you the best options for you.
Coaching is not counselling (help with emotional and mental challenges that can stop you from living a full life), consultation (advice is given in another field) or mentoring (advice given from an expert in your field).
Have a question I’ve not answered here?
Can I just do online sessions ?
Yes! Sessions can be conducted online via video call, making it convenient to connect from anywhere.
Do I need to be artistic?
Not at all! The creative elements are about expression, not artistic skill. They're simple tools to help you explore your thoughts and feelings in new ways.
How do I know if your style of coaching is for me?
The best way to find out is through a free getting-to-know-you session. This gives you a chance to experience my coaching style and ask any questions you might have.
How do I know it’s going to work?
It's completely normal to feel skeptical about coaching. I felt uncertain at first too, wondering if it would truly help me. Now I know that systemic coaching with creative expression can be a powerful tool towards change.
A good first step could be arranging a “getting to know you” call where you can talk about your concerns and see if my style of coaching suits you. If not I am really happy to refer you to someone who may be a better fit.
